This week we were challenged to create an infographic on #MakerEd. For my infographic, I focused on how to transform the traditional art room into a TAB Choice Studio. A TAB Choice Studio connects the maker movement into the art studio in an authentic way. TAB stands for Teaching for Artistic Behavior, it is a philosophy that is student centered, where the students are artists, and the studio is their working space. At first glance, one might think that any art room is a makerspace, however, the traditional art room is teacher driven, and while the process is important, the end product is valued more. In a TAB studio as well as a Makerspace, the value is in the process, and learning takes place through the process of making. As the creative industry grows, all educators need to include Art in their makerspaces. You can check out my interactive infographic here, below is a preview.
